LIBERIA’s NATIONAL HOUSING AUTHORITY PRESS FORWARD TO COMPLETE 60,000 HOUSING UNITS FOR LOW INCOME EARNERS
The National Housing Authority plans to provide houses to low income earners at affordable prices.
The Managing Director to the National Housing Authority Madam Celia Coffey Brown revealed this at the Monrovia city hall during the 7th Program Steering Committee of Cities Alliance. According to her, 300 units has been constructed at the Town Hill community and 500 at Schefflin.
Plans for a housing forum for the investors and users of these buildings are ongoing where they will enlightened on how the investors will get back their funds that was invested.
The duration of the project is not known yet but Madam Celia claims the project will take place within three months of her rule as NHA Managing Director. She also added that as the economy gets better more building will constructed to ensure that every Liberian can afford one.
Meanwhile, several presentations were made at the 7th Program Steering Committee of Cities Alliance held at the Monrovia City Hall by the government and partners. The presentations included the midterm evaluation of preliminary findings by Mr. Miyonga Jonathan; YMCA Liberia; Cities Alliance CUF project by Fred Abankwa and Federation of Petty Traders and Informal Workers Union of Liberia.
